Snow showers at times began in the Rockford area around 10am before spreading

An upper level weather disturbance produced periods of snow showers and
Flurries for the area after 4-6am on the 8th till just prior to midnight on the 9th.
Most areas just had trace amounts early Monday am for the am commute.
Pavement temperatures rose in the mid 30s by late morning Monday despite
Air temperatures in the 26-28 range. There was a bit of lull in the activity

Light and drizzle occurred off and on after 4pm on 1-25. This activity diminished
to some flurries mixed with sleet and ended 2-4am on 1-26. Temperatures at
midnight were in the upper 30s. By dawn on the 1-26 readings were sub freezing.
There wasn’t a lot of rainfall but many surfaces were still moist as air and pavement
