STORM SUMMARY 1-22-2016
Lake effect flurries and light snow showers developed between 8-10am as forecast. This activity was off and on into 1-23. The areas that received accum did so in the morning and after that the activity was very light and mostly non accumulating. The activity looked a lot more impressive on radar than what actually reached the ground. Flurries did extend out to the west burbs and even Rockford where trace amounts were observed temperatures were in the mid to upper 20s during much of the duration of the lake effect activity. Residual salt from the prior system took care of much of it but some additional material did need to be put down. Officially O’Hare had .4, MDW .6 Romeoville .1 and Rockford a trace
