Buffalo Grove Snow Removal The Public Works department is responsible for plowing over 100 miles of roads within the city. Their goal is to plow all roads with 10 hours from the end of a storm. The Village does remove snow from all sidewalks however; this task is only completed during normal business hours and not completed during overtime. The village does not plow all roads within the village limits. The State of Illinois, Cook County Highway Department, and Lake County Highway Department plow all the major roads in the village.
