Light snow developed 2-4:30pm from west to east across northern and north central Illinois. As forecast, snow intensified for a short period between 5 and 9pm. The snow the diminished to very light snow and eventually freezing drizzle between 12-3am on the 21st.

AccuWeather, the national meteorological service, has some bad news for Chicagoans. According to Chief Long-Range Meteorologist Joe Bastardi, the western Great Lakes region, the northern Plains states, and the Pacific Northwest are due for greater-than-usual snowfall and colder temperatures this winter.
