A clipper type system zipped on thru the area early this morning bringing anther light snow event to the region. Snow began at Rockford around 12am before spreading into the Chicago area 1-2am. For a change McHenry and Lake Counties and down into northern Cook received the lightest snowfall. Most of the remainder of the area ended up with the forecast of 1-3 inches. Most areas only needed some salting but some plowing was required in the heavier snow areas. Temperatures were cold during the snow event around the mid teens. The last of the flakes exited the area in the 8am hour. The official snowfall at ORD was .7, Rockford 1.2, Romeoville 1.8 inches.
