STORM SUMMARY 1-9-2016
The day started out with some spotty drizzle along with temperatures between 36
and 40 degrees. Light rain spread into the area between 12:30 and 1:30 pm from
southwest to northeast. Rain changed over to snow from along and west of a line from Naperville to Ord between 1:30 and 2pm. the precipitation form stayed as rain east of this line until 3-4pm. Air and surface temperatures remained above 32 into the early evening hours which prevented much of the snowfall from
accumulating on the streets. Surfaces and sidewalks did get slushy requiring
salting and in some cases multiple saltings Most folks also plowed off the slush
with the forecast frigid temperatures ahead. O’Hare had 1.7 Rockford 1.5 and
Romeoville 1.4
