STORM SUMMARY 2-13&14-12
LIGHT SNOW AND FLURRIES BEGAN EARLY TO MID AFTERNOON ON 2-13 IN THE ROCKFORD AREA AND OVER TO WAUKEGAN. IT TOOK LONGER FOR THE SNOW TO REACH THE SURFACE ELSEWHERE IN THE CHICAGO AREA WHERE THE SNOW DID NOT COMMENCE UNTIL LATE AFTERNOON/EVENING. LIGHT SNOW DIMINESHED TO FREEZING DRIZZLE IN THE ROCKFORD AREA AROUND MIDNIGHT WITH THE TRANSITION OCCURING BETWEEN 2-3 AM IN CHICAGO. THE FREEZING DRIZZLE SWITCHED BACK TO A FEW FLURRIES IN THE MORNING ON THE 14TH. THERE WAS NO ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATION AFTER 12AM. O’HARE OFFICIALLY RECEIVED .3 OF SNOW WHILE ROCKFORD HAD .4. THIS WAS MAINLY A SALTING OPERATION.
