STORM SUMMARY 12-9-11
Light snowfall began between 11pm on the 8th to 1am on the 9th. Temperatures at the onset of the light snowfall were around 30 degrees and by the time the snow exited by dawn, readings were in the lowers 20s. Amounts ranged from a trace to about an inch with the highest totals along and south of I80. This was the first measurable snow event of the season for the Chicago area making this
year the 5th latest start of measurable snow for the area. Salting was required to clear surfaces.
