STORM SUMMARY 12-17-11

Light snowfall began between 2-4am and diminished between 9-11am from West to east. Air temperatures were below normal during the duration of The event although surface temps rose into the mid 30s by the end of the event. Salting should have taken care of most of the snowfall but some scraping or Plowing was needed on some lots where amounts exceeded an inch. While the liquid equivalents were all below 1/10 of an inch at each of the reporting stations, the official snow totals at O’Hare Airport was 1.2 inches while Rockford had 1.6 inches.
