STORM SUMMARY 3-18-13.
Light snow, sleet, freezing rain and freezing drizzle and drizzle occurred at times between 5am and 3pm. A winter weather advisory was issued at 5:35am till 11am for slick surfaces. Both air and pavement temperatures were below freezing at the onset of the light snow, sleet and freezing rain. The air temperature did not get above 32 until 2-3pm but the pavement temperatures by 9-10am were in the mid 30s. Salting was need for the morning commute. Even though there were many areas that only reported trace amounts of snow, those areas still experienced some icing caused by the sleet and freezing rain
