STORM SUMMARY 2-12-15
A strong upper level piece of energy in the upper level moved through the area during the overnight hours producing an area flurries, snow showers and light snow. Mostly trace amounts occurred over much of McHenry and Lake Counties while the returns were more impressive from Rockford to south of I90 where a
Dusting to a coating was left behind. Just enough to slicken surfaces. This was a fairly dry and fine snow and gusty winds even blew some surfaces clean. Residual salt took care of some of the snowfall but again everyone was encouraged to check surfaces and to salt if necessary prior to the morning commute. Officially
