STORM SUMMARY 12-4-16
A trough of low pressure produced the first measurable snowfall of the season to the area. Snow spread into Rockford 7-8am and 8-10am Chicago area. Snow began light for the first hour or two before turning to a moderated snowfall till late afternoon. Lingering light snow ended from west to east between 6-8pm. There was a lot of banding on radar which resulted in non uniform snowfall totals from one location to another. Salting and plowing was required area wide. There Probably was a little less snow on the pavement due to some initial melting but there was more than enough to plow. The official snow totals were: O”Hare 6.4, Rockford 5.3, Romeoville 8.1
