STORM SUMMARY 1-25-13
An area of snow spread into the Chicago area between 4:30 and 5:30am. The snow
diminished between 8:30 and 9:30am. Average snow totals were between .5 to a little over an inch. The snow intensities varied quite a bit from one location to another which resulted in some variability in the amounts. Chicago officially received the first one inch system of the season. This was a record for this to occur so late into the season. Temperatures during the duration of the snow were in the 18-20 range. Readings later in the day crept up into the 26-28 degree range. There some additional flurries that occurred late afternoon till 10-11pm with little
or additional accumulation. Salting and because of the cold temps some folks may have decided to push the snow off surfaces.
