STORM SUMMARY 1-21-2015
This a continuing system from 1-20. Freezing drizzle mixed with some snow by 1am mainly north burbs. The majority of the activity shriveled by 2-3am. There was a lull in the activity until narrow band of snow fell from Lee and Ogle Counties through La Salle, Grundy, Kankakee Counties and parts of Kendall County after 6-7am. Within this area, there was a heavy band of wet snow which produce 2-4 inches of snow in spots. This area of snow shriveled by 10-11am. Meanwhile, some areas of light snow and snow showers pushed down from Wisconsin over the rest of the area after 9am till 2pm. This activity produced trace to less than an inch amounts. Salting was still required to combat the early morning freezing drizzle and additional salting and in some cases plowing was needed for the snow activity.
Officially O’Hare had only .1 snow bring the season total to 13.8. Rockford had .3 snow and season total 11.1 Romeoville .3 and 9.7 season.
