STORM SUMMARY 2-20-11

Rain, freezing rain and sleet began from south to north between 5-7am. There was some very light glazing initially. Temperatures and surface temperatures rose into The mid 30s 9-10am which ended the glazing. Salting was needed where the glazing occurred early am. Temperatures were around 30-32 at the onset of
the rainfall and by 9am they were in the mid 30s.

STORM SUMMARY 2-21-11

A period of freezing drizzle, drizzle and snow showers occurred from mid morning to mid afternoon. Untreated surfaces slickened up. Additional very light freezing drizzle developed 7-9pm which also slickened up untreated surfaces. The freezing drizzle turned to very light snow which ended by midnight. Precipitation amounts for the
majority of the area were only trace amounts while the northern tier of counties from Rockford to Waukegan were under 1/10 and under an inch snow. Rockford had
.3 snow while O’Hare had only a trace and a dusting to less than ½ inch Lake and McHenry Counties. Some salting again was required.
